What is Plasma?

Blood is made up of four main components:

  • Red blood cells
  • White blood cells
  • Plasma
  • Platelets

Plasma is the liquid that carries the red and white blood cells. It is made mostly of water and dissolved proteins, including antibodies and blood clotting factors.

The plasma obtained in Octapharma’s Plasma Donation Centers is used as the raw material for the production of high-quality protein products that are used as effective medical drugs and treatments.
