I have been SVP of Commercial Development here at Octapharma USA for close to three years. It has been a fantastic ride. We all work in a constantly changing marketplace that deals with multiple rare diseases. It’s dynamic and challenging, presenting us with opportunities that require both new ideas as well as a disciplined approach to following up on critical issues. I love that balance of creativity and entrepreneurialism built on a solid business foundation. It ensures that we achieve our goals. And it keeps me on my toes!

One thing that has always been very important to us here at Octapharma is listening to our customers – the people with difficult, chronic conditions. We want to understand their experiences with their diseases, their treatments, and their lives. Really connecting with the people who depend on our therapies ensures that we create meaningful programs and interactions in addition to life-saving medications. It is both humbling and satisfying.

When I think about both my team and Octapharma as a whole, three characteristics come to mind. We are extremely innovative, driven to use our market contacts to create new development opportunities for Octapharma. We are agile, demonstrated by just how quickly we can pivot and adjust to emerging market forces. Finally, we are efficient. It’s incredible how much we achieve with such a small staff. These characteristics define us.
