Clinical Trial Associate | 6 years at Octapharma
Every day of my work as a Clinical Study Manager is exciting and I look forward to taking on new challenges and learning something new each day. Most times, work doesn’t feel like “work” – I love coming in and getting after it!
I was hired by Octapharma back in August, 2014 as a Clinical Trial Associate. Since then, I have been promoted twice – first to Clinical Research Associate, then to Clinical Study Manager. Currently I am on track to become a Clinical Project Manager and hoping to become Associate Director/Director of Clinical Operations in the future. The company really cares about its employees and promotes from within – that’s opportunity.
What I love most about my job are the challenges. Because I assist in the management of Clinical Trials within a small international team, I get to wear many different hats and work on many different projects, each with its own set of unique complexities. I often have the opportunity to “punch above my weight”. The exposure to so many assignments is propelling my career growth. I welcome it; without challenge, there is no growth. Bring it!
The team culture is what beckons me to work every morning. Director of Clinical Operations (Immunology and ICU) leads by example and is an exceptional teacher. He pushes me to the edge of my limits while providing enough guidance to help me make my own decisions and succeed in my tasks. Every day of work is exciting and I look forward to taking on new challenges and learning something new every day. Most times, work doesn’t feel like “work” – I love coming in and getting after it!
I work hard, take calls from my clinical sites at all times of the day, work on weekends, and make sure that my clinical sites/research staff enjoy working with me, all because I am the face of Octapharma. I want to make sure I represent Octapharma USA as well as I can.
We are always looking to add great people to our team. Here are my thoughts about how to earn a spot at Octapharma: Be confident in your skills. Work hard and come to the table with an open mind. Be ready to lead at any level and let your work speak for itself. This is not a 9-to-5 job – pour your heart and soul into your work and be proud of it. If you are humble and work hard, the fruits of your labor are right around the corner.
